Exploring Epithelial Communication to the Mesenchyme and Its Impact on the Expression of Genes Related to Tumorigenesis

Homeostasis of the epithelium is depend-ent on Wnt/beta-catenin pathway, which regulates proliferation intestinal stem cells. The gain function mutations in beta-catenin gene leads to rapid cell and malignant growth epithelium. In addition, maintenance these cells appears be linked mesenchymal-derived factors. Although communication between epithelial mesenchyme populations remains uncharacterized, understanding this mechanism will help us further understand various pathways involved tumor initiation processes. Our results show that communi-cation during transformation influenced by varying levels protein-expressing genes including Wnt2b, Grem1, Bmp6.
